I grew up in the serene seaside city of Cochin in South
India. After obtaining a master's degree in computer science
from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, I
joined IBM
India, where I've been working for over 15 years.
I was a Linux kernel engineer for several years at IBM,
during which I ported Linux to various embedded devices such
as
a wrist
watch,
a handheld,
a music player,
a VoIP
nurse call system,
a pacemaker
programmer, and
a remote
patient monitoring system. I was a contributing editor
and kernel columnist to the
Linux Magazine for more than 2 years.
Currently, I manage a telecom group at IBM India. My
team is responsible for developing protocol software for a
4G cellular backbone. Prior to this, I managed IBM
India's Embedded Solutions team.
I also dabble
in non-technical writing;
